What we collect

When you send a message through our contact form, we collect:

• your name and email address
• your phone number (optional)
• your vehicle registration (optional)
• your message

If you become a customer, we keep the details needed to do the work: your contact details and records of the vehicles we service and repair.

When you visit the website, our hosting provider processes IP addresses and basic request data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your information for these purposes, on these legal bases:

• Replying to your enquiry: this is a step you ask us to take before we agree work with you, or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our services.
• Doing the work and keeping the service and repair record for your vehicle: performance of our contract with you.
• Keeping tax and accounting records: a legal obligation.
• Protecting the website and the contact form from abuse: our legitimate interest in keeping them secure.

We do not use your details for marketing.

Who processes it for us

We share information only with the providers we need to run the website and our business:

• Cloudflare: website hosting, spam protection on the contact form (Turnstile), and delivering contact form messages to our inbox by email.
• Google: the Gmail inbox where contact form messages arrive.
• BOIOB Tech, who built this website: the small “Built by BOIOB Tech” badge at the bottom of each page is loaded from its website, boiob-tech.com. To show it, your browser asks boiob-tech.com for the image, so, like any website, it receives your IP address and browser type. Your browser is told not to send which of our pages you were on, and nothing you type on our site is sent.
• Parts suppliers, to order components for your vehicle.
• Payment processors, to handle payments securely.
• Our accountants and legal advisers, for professional services.
• Law enforcement or regulators, where the law requires it.

We never sell your data.

Some of these providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, the safeguards that UK law requires apply.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted after 12 months.
• Customer and invoice records are kept for 6 years, to meet tax requirements.

Cookies

Our website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics.

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check for spam. Turnstile reads technical information from your browser, such as your IP address and browser type, to tell people from automated bots. It is used only for this security check, not to identify or track you. Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy addendum has the details.

Links to other websites

Our site links to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Google Maps. Those services have their own privacy and cookie policies, which apply when you use them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have these rights:

• Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure: ask us to delete your data, subject to our legal obligations.
• Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data.
• Portability: ask us to give your data to you in a portable format.
• Objection: object to our use of your data where it is based on our legitimate interests.
